In Ayurveda, the mind is made up of three Gunas (aka qualities):

  • Sattva – clarity, calm, purity
  • Rajas – movement, ambition, restlessness
  • Tamas – heaviness, inertia, confusion

The mind is made up of two Dohsas (aka constitutions)

The word Dosha refers to the dominate constitution that can lead to imbalance. In this situation we are referring to the mind. The reason we are accessing the Dosha of the the mind is because the quality of a Satvic mind can not become imbalanced.
